“Everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”
Sylvia Plath
Services
Coaching
An idea cannot be copyrighted—it needs expression. My development work is one-on-one coaching. It can have several purposes—to grow an idea into a project, to have personal tutorials in writing craft, to hash out an outline, or something else entirely.
Workshops
I lead ongoing eight-week workshops wherein writers get to be writers with other writers. Upon occasion, I, or a co-teacher and I, lead one-off, most often themed or intentional writing trainings. Sometimes organizations approach me for this service.
Editorial
Once you have something on the page, there are three possible editorial phases. I call them Big Fixes—or structure, Small Fixes—or craft, and Detail Fixes—or polishing. Each project is different. Together we create a plan that works for your project.
Retreats
Everyday life has a way of taking over and gobbling up creative time in the life of a writer. A retreat is the perfect antidote to the quotidian. Retreats are usually private and custom-created for your express purposes. Sometimes, I’ll lead group retreats.
